There is no weight or plow-through to speak of. This racquet feels cheap, flimsy, and unsubstantial when I swing it. The past year of using it has been dreadful for my game. Wish I had used it more before committing to buy it. I'm a 4.5 player, wanted to switch to a lighter and more powerful frame, so I demo'd a bunch and settled on this one. I've never had any arm problems with it and has never felt heavy.Ĭomments: Its a solid and awesome racquet so long as you can control the power!Ĭomments: My honest review of this racquet is that I can't believe how much love it receives. I play singles and doubles about 4 to 5 times a week. I can feel the ball connection much more on this one. I have had 4 versions of the Pure Drive, and have always been happy with the small changes. Maybe this review will help somebody and that y'all aren't dying laughing right now!!Ĭomments: Solid racquet. Maybe the best way for me to compare it is, it feels like when I first got my Specialized bicycle a decade or so ago.like an extension of your body.a perfect fit.just feels right. I feel like my serve is slowly coming back and occasionally get some good groundstrokes in, even if inconsistent right now. I once had a good groundstroke, loved playing the net and had a strong serve. So the limited amount I've been able to play, like maybe 10 times, I'm leaning toward the Pure Drive being my favorite. AND, I couldn't decide on just one, so I also bought the Pure Aero as well.

However, for the time being, I decided on Babolat. I played with a Yonex R-22 and I loved that racquet! So after demo-ing new racquets, it was very hard not to go back to Yonex and I still may at some point. I was fairly decent then as my school's #1 singles and doubles player my junior and senior year. The Pure Drive continues to be one of the best options for those who want a light and explosive player's racquet.ġ986 was the year of my last new racquet! I may not be the right person to be writing a helpful review since I haven't played much tennis since my senior year of high school in 1988.34 years ago! I'm not really sure why I stopped playing.

#Babolat pure strike light update
With incremental tweaks to the feel, this update won't disappoint especially if you place a premium on quick handling. It also packs impressive all-court mobility, making it great for cranking winners on the run or charging into the front court and finishing points at net. On court, this racquet's explosive acceleration and spin-friendly targeting make it a dangerous weapon from the baseline. Additional features include FSI Power Technology, which optimizes the grommet system and string spacing for higher levels of power and spin. To help with vibration dampening, Babolat has devoted more space in the shaft to SWX Pure Feel, a thin and extremely flexible viscoelastic rubber that sits between the racquet's carbon layers. Updated with Babolat's new HTR System, the Pure Drive's graphite layup has been reengineered for higher torsional rigidity, resulting in more efficient energy transfer to the ball. As with previous versions of the Pure Drive, this update keeps the same easy learning curve and explosive spec profile that has attracted generations of players. Babolat adds another chapter to the game's most iconic modern player's racquet.
